Surrey has clear rules about vehicles that sit still, on the street and at home. Here's the short version.
No vehicle may stay parked in the same spot on a Surrey street for more than 72 hours. A junk car that never moves can be ticketed.
The City's property rules cover vehicles that can't run under their own power, and ones without a current licence. An officer can set a deadline to remove it.
Vehicles licensed over 5,000 kg aren't allowed on residential property at all, running or not.
If junk builds up and isn't cleared by the deadline, the City can clean it up and add the cost to your property taxes.
None of this means you're in trouble for having an old car. It just means a car that has stopped moving tends to get noticed. If you've had a notice, send us a photo of it and the deadline, and we'll book the pickup before the date.
